Follow Up - Newbie About To Order from Tulving

I placed the order for 24 1oz. American Eagles 2/28/06.

Sent the wire tranfer 2/28/06.

Called Tulving to make sure the wire transfer went through on 3/2/06.

Called to find out what day they would arrive on 3/3/06, he said 3/4 or 3/6.

Didn't arrive 3/4 or 3/6 so I called back on 3/6, they told me they were back ordered and I would have them on 3/8, they did come today.

So from ordering to receiving it took 9 days.

I don't know how busy Tulving is, but I thought they could have called me to let me know there was going to be a delay.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the premium over spot on each (inc. shipping)?

That is very slow for them. They were always the fastest. Look for a local dealer. Don't give your name etc. You pay fiat and take with you. Bring your gun if you are buyng that much. Might be better to buy a few every few days on you way home from work.

Hanes I think handles all the gold orders......and he only communicates by email, and then the message will be short and to the point. So if you called, you likely didn't speak to the man in charge.

If you have a question about your order, email Hanes.

That's the slowest I've ever heard of them being, but I suspect supplies of PMs ARE getting tighter and you can look for more of it in the future.

Still beats places like NWTM who some here have reported string you along for months.

Greetings to all..

Yet another newbie, and one that ordered from NWT Mint before having read here...
Optimistically, I ordered 1000 Silver 1oz Canadian Maple leafs and wired over the funds on Jan 4. I wanted to have things on hand before Mr. Bernanke took office. At this point I have gotten many promises of it shipping tomorrow, it shipped out of Dallas and I'm waiting for them to fax over the tracking#, and now just read receipts on the notes I send them with no response. I have 2 questions.. Has anyone ever heard of them defaulting on an order? And would anyone have Mr. Ross Hansen's E-mail address at that company? I find that the reception people put up a fairly good wall to block communication once a customer has committed funds to them. Tulving sounds much better in the service area.

Jens.

From what I read about Tulving, they are usually quick. They did say they were backordered. The day after I ordered, their website said the Amercian Eagles were "sold out". I would have liked a call to tell me it would be delayed. I live less than an hour away, it would not been a long distance call.

Here's a post from Hansen himself in case you haven't found it on the NWT nightmare thread. You may want to try emailing him through this forum, though I suspect the odds aren't good that you'll hear back from him. His handle is rosshansen:

Northwest Territorial Mint has been in business for 24 years. We currently employ over 70 people and are still growing. Our main headquarters is located in Auburn, Washington. We also have an office at the Pentagon.

Although we strive to fulfill orders promptly and accurately, sometimes we make mistakes. Last year alone we handled over 69,000 transactions.

We dont like to hear that we have any unhappy customers. When we do hear about them, we try our best to correct our mistakes and make our client happy. Unfortunately, this isnt always possible because some people arent happy no matter what you do. Although there are posts here describing delays, you will notice none of them claim that the order was never received.

Also, please remember when reading messages in this forum that they are posted anonymously. Anyone can post false or partially false messages here in an attempt to impair our business, whether it is a competitor or disgruntled customer. Conversely, people can post messages that are true, but we have no way of helping them when we dont know who they are.

Should anybody have any questions, want to talk with me personally, or would like a tour of our mint, please call me at (800) 344-6468.

Sincerely,
Ross Hansen
Owner
Northwest Territorial Mint

Nope. I saw 13 complaints registered with the BBB that were all resolved. You'll get your metal but it sucks waiting.

My order in October didn't get completely filled until January, though they told me when I ordered the US Mint had stopped producing for the year and they needed to go to the secondary market to fill the order.
